The Crocker Art Museum is pleased to announce a $125,000 donation from the Creative Arts League of Sacramento (CALS), to help fund the upcoming exhibition Exuberant Earth: Ceramics by Ruth Rippon, in addition to the accompanying160-page, full-color catalogue.

CALS has undertaken what organization leaders call its most dramatic and largest endeavor, raising $125,000 through fundraising events, such as the Crocker Holiday Artisan Market, and individual donations, to support this beautiful exhibition, a retrospective presenting 90 works by Ruth Rippon, the vanguard Sacramento-based ceramist and longtime champion of fellow local artists.

“We appreciate the long-standing generosity of the Creative Arts League in supporting exhibitions and programs exploring the fine art of craft, and are especially excited by their support of the Ruth Rippon exhibition. As an artist and an educator, Ruth has helped shape the widespread love for clay our region enjoys, and we are delighted to celebrate her with this retrospective of her work.”

The date is fast approaching: Exuberant Earth: Ceramics by Ruth Rippon will soon be on view October 29th at the Crocker Art Museum.

A hearty thanks to CALS for this generous donation.
